I am fortunate enough to be a member of an
Etsy Street Team named the Wire Artisans Guild.

Each week members take a turn at picking a challenge theme for everyone
to make a piece  of jewelry, following that theme.
I will be posting those weekly theme challenges on this page.

Be sure to check out the WAG Etsy shop:

Wire Artisan's Guild theme:  Passion - April 2008
I hardly ever work work with these Fiery and Passionate colors,
but after this challenge piece, that may be changing!
I really am pleased with the way this turned out!

In honor of Earth Day, I created this wire wrapped pendant
with a beautiful faceted Chalcedony briolette drop.
The Wire Artisans Guild's Etsy shop opened, with Earth Day
themed pieces from themembers of the Team.

Wire Artisan's Guild theme:  Gothic Bride - April 2008

Wire Artisan's Guild theme:  Whirligig - April 2008
My interpretation of the theme struck me the second I
laid eyes on this lampwork focal bead  in my bead box, made by
the oh-so-talented Sarah Moran of Z-Beads.
I’ve been hoarding this bead, not sure what I wanted to do with it
for quite some time now!  It’s bright colors and whimsical style
seemed perfectly suited for our challenge this week!

Wire Artisan's Guild theme:  Butterfly - March 2008
My first ever Theme Challenge! I had a lot of fun with this - it's great to be
challenged to design something that you normally would not have done,
as part of a group. I'm definitely looking forward to doing more!!

This delicate butterfly wing is hand wrapped with very fine gauge sterling wire.
I love the little coils inside the wing - they remind me of the flight that butterflies take....
the silver is accented with tiny rhodolite garnet rondelles, 2mm Hilltribe fine silver stamped beads,
and a laboradite spear  with a TON of flash! The pendant measures 2 inches, top to bottom.
 Stay tuned for more!!

This is the front and back of a pendant I made in class with Tracy Stanley,
at Nancy Meinhardt's studio in Chicago, in August.  Tracy is such a fabulous teacher!
If you ever get the opportunity to take a class with her, don't pass it up!!

A Couple of Components I Made in Connie Fox's Fused Metal
Workshop, in San Diego.   It Was a Great Time!!

I LOVE this!!  When I saw the pattern by Liz Smith in Beadwork,
I knew I had to make this!!

It's my goal as a teacher to pass some of this inspiration on to my students,
and to always be learning new techniques to incorporate into class projects!!
